Privacy Policy

The short version

• Editing is local. Projects, media, and exports live on your Mac, not our servers.
• Cloud AI features send only what the feature needs — a prompt, a clip — to the model that runs it.
• We keep numbers about usage for billing, not the content of your work, with three small exceptions listed below.
• We never sell your data, and we never train AI models on your content.

What stays on your Mac

The editor works without an account, and everything it makes stays local: projects, imported media, timelines, screenplays, the Production Bible, assistant chats, and the assistant's per-project memory. Apple Intelligence features — the on-device assistant model, prompt rephrase, captions and transcripts, media organizing — run entirely on your Mac and send nothing anywhere.

Deleting a project deletes its files. Exports go only where you save them.

Your account

You need an account only for cloud AI features and purchases. Sign in with Google or an emailed code; we store the email address and name you sign in with, nothing more. Accounts and our backend run on Supabase, and sign-in codes and purchase receipts are delivered through Resend, our email provider.

Cloud AI features

When you run a cloud feature, the app sends the content that feature needs — your prompt, the selected clip or audio, reference frames — through our servers to the AI provider that runs the model. It is used to produce your result and returned to the app. Generated video and images are saved to your Mac, not kept by us.

• Video, images, and music — models from Google, ByteDance, OpenAI, and others, plus Sonilo and ElevenLabs for music.
• The AI assistant — Anthropic, and models from OpenAI, Google, and others.
• Cloud captions, translation, and keyword highlights — OpenAI.
• Voice tools and sound effects — ElevenLabs, and Cartesia for some speech models.

Providers process your content only to run your request, under their own terms. We never use your content to train AI models.

What we keep on our servers

For billing, every credit movement is recorded: the feature, the model, the credit amount, and size counts like seconds or characters — never your prompts or media. This ledger is an append-only financial record.

Three features store content so they can keep working:

• Custom voices — the voice's name and the audio sample that defines it. The sample is what makes the voice work, so it is kept until you delete the voice.
• Generated sound effects — the audio and its prompt, so your library can list them.
• Video shot notes — the prompt and pacing notes for a generated shot, so later extensions of the same scene can match it.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Checkout happens on their pages in your browser; card numbers never reach us. We keep the purchase record — plan, amount, credits granted, invoice id — and your statement shows DODOPAY_STUDIOPLUS. Dodo Payments' own privacy policy applies to checkout.

Voices are personal

A voice recording can identify a person, so voice cloning is handled strictly. Clone only your own voice or one you have clear permission to use — the Terms require it. Samples are shared only with the provider that renders the voice, and deleting a voice in the app removes it and its sample.

No ads

Studio Plus shows no ads, and your data is never sold or shared for advertising. Our hosting providers keep standard, short-lived technical logs to run the service. Checking for app updates is an anonymous request for a static file: it works signed out and sends no account information.

This website

We measure how this website is used with Google Analytics, so we know which pages people read and what they find useful. It runs without cookies: nothing is stored on your device after you close the tab, nothing follows you to other sites, and advertising and personalisation signals are switched off. We see pages, clicks, scrolling, and how much of a video played — never who you are.

Nothing is measured inside the app itself by this, and none of it is joined to your account. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we skip measurement entirely.

How long we keep things

• Account details — until your account is deleted. Email hi@studioplus.cc to request it.
• Voice samples, sound effects, and shot notes — until you delete them or your account.
• The billing ledger — an append-only financial record, kept as long as accounting rules require, even after an account is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at any time — email hi@studioplus.cc from the address on your account. Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, and California), these are also legal rights: access, portability, correction, deletion, and no discrimination for using them. We don't sell personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of.

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date below.
